Version 4 STI Type RA V-limited

Decided to test the water prior to putting the car on ebay or in Auto trader.

The car is a 1998 version 4 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type RA V-Limited. 68K miles. It has all standard fitments for Type RA with the additions of factory fitted electric windows all round and air conditioning.
Interior is standard Black and Red velour sets with V3 logo in front and Blank and Grey Velour in Rear.
Blue with Silver (or gold) alloys. Version 4 rear spoiler, approx 6 inches high.

It was imported in June 2003 with 31,250 miles. I bought the car from the first owner with 31,980 on the 19th Feb 2004.
A fault with the engine management resulted in piston melt soon after I bought the car.
API of Warwickshire rebuilt the engine with STI pistons, new shot peened rods, lightened flywheel , new radiator, full stainless Decat down pipe and uprated clutch. All engine components were either new or re-machined except for cam shafts. The engine has the red manifold which is polished on the internal surfaces.

After the running in period, and over the next few months, I fitted the following:
VF34 Turbo from V7 JDM STI,
Stainless Steel headers and up pipe,
Apexi Power FC Engine management system with hand-held commander,
Apexi Boost controller,
Version 5 intercooler (higher vane density).
Samco coolant hose set (blue)

The car also has a Zero-sports Air channeller on the underside of the bonnet to assist cooling.
The exhaust is a full decat 3.5 inch straight through with one silencer at the rear finishing in a four inch circular tailpipe. It is loud.
The car uses fully synthetic engine oil (Morris Competition 15W40 Engine oil) which is changed every 2500 miles.
The Gearbox and rear differential oil was changed during late 2004 (Morris Oils used)

The Engine management system and boost controller have been mapped by Andy Forrest.
It has been mapped to run correctly on 97 octane fuel but can be adjusted to run on 95 octane safely by using the FC Commander.
The engine has an electronic rev limit of 7900, with peak power at approximately 5500 revs.
The power is estimated to be 340 BHP.
Boost starts to develop at 2500 with 90% boost at 2900 and full boost by 3100.
Boost is limited to 1.4 bar but this is dependant on the gear selected.
Fuel economy information is available for the period I have owned the car. Average 23 mpg normal, 32 mpg on motorways.

The car has after-market alloys filled (Japanese manufactured, Five spokes similar to standard UK) with Yokohama tyres. I have a set of STI gold Five spokes with tyres too. The suspension has been swapped for the Bilstien Version 5 inverted strut type which have been tuned by Bilstien UK (graphs available), matched to standard springs
The brakes are aftermarket disks with Ferodo FR fast-road pads on the from with Red Stuff fast-road pads on the rear. Braded hoses all around.

All indicators have been switches for clear units. The standard blanking plates have been removed from the bumper and driving lights fitted to switch on with Main beam.
The car is de-badged apart from the special edition badge on the boot lid and the Subaru badge on the front grill (now matching blue). Also fitted are standard UK side and rear skirts (black)

A Boost gauge is fitted to steering wheel surround, with FC commander affixing by Velcro to the dash and the Boost controller concealed in the centre upper console.
The car has fitted an Alpine single CD head unit (capable of controlling multichanger) with 4" component set in front and 6" x 9" rear in the parcel shelf. Power and Audio cables are fitted to run and amplifier and Sub-woofer (available if required)

The car is taxed and MOT'ed until May. MOT can be re-done prior to any sale.
