Following my purchase of the top half of a V6 STi rear spoiler, I decided today was the day to swap the V5 top for the V6 top.

First job is to remove the 2 blanking plates on the base of the spoiler. I used 2 plastic trim removal tools to be sure I didn't damage the paint.

Interestingly, the left & right fixings are different sizes:

Top half left/right base, again (obviously) different :

Be sure to tilt spoiler forwards when refixing 6x10mm nuts to avoid them vanishing deep inside the bowels of the spoiler base!

It seems the version 5 is wider at the top?

I'd say definately at the back. I'll measure them when I'm back home:thumb

Probably a flow issue, as the lip could make it more efficient and/or move the equilibrium point further back.

Take the plates off the sides of the base. Inside there are 2 nuts on each side. You’ll need a torch to see them:thumb
