~ That legendary WRC driver will also participate! For customers who love WRX. Thank you. ~

With the end of production of the horizontally opposed engine EJ20, orders for the current WRX STI have ended on December 23, 2019.
"WRX" was born to fight in the world. The first “WRX Fan Meeting”, a gathering of up to 1,000 “WRX” as a place to express gratitude to customers who have been patronizing “WRX” for many years in time with the completion of the custom-made production of the flagship model. It will be held!
We are planning a large-scale meeting where you can share your passion for "WRX" with each other and with many SUBARU / STI parties who will participate with you on the day.
Furthermore, as a special guest, “Legend Driver” who will make a name in the history of SUBARU will also come on the day! ! !

Think it was to increase bearing size without weakening supporting structure and decrease times needed in case of a tyre change/puncture. A bit nerdy maybe, but that was one of the things that, IMO, should be carried over from the road car, to show some resemblance between the two cars. Not much left on the modern micro hatchbacks of today either. In that respect the GpA cars were much "better".
