Refitting AC into a Type RA V-Ltd

Good maintenance is all what counts on our older cars.
There are every reasons the AC blows not cold enough, let a specialist look after it and you will be ok.
Regassing, oiling, seals no leaking, radiator not blocked, good condenser and a clean moisture filter and you're good to go.

So it looks like my wiring is intact, evaporator is still in the dash and compressor bracket is there. This is a no brainer to me, not only does it make the car so much more usable (wives and children will be happier!) but it is actually putting it back to how it left the factory too. Plenty of second hand compressors available, and new condenser/rads, it's the plumbing that will be trickier. Does anyone have any schematics/drawings or part numbers for the AC system please? I think I probably ideally need to find a GC8 with AC that's being broken and I'll take the bits I need but any GC8 is a rare thing nowadays it seems!
If you want to do it correctly for your model; the AC pump clutch is slightly different to later models.
Also the steel belt cover will be impossible to find.

Tensioner bracket is also different to later models. Most hoses seem available new though.

Excellent info, thanks

Yes early pre94 cars had a slightly different tentioner and used metal cover. I actually found it hard to find the right length belt for mine had to try a few. Ended up with a continetal branded one. You can use a plastic over no problem. But the tenstioners are not interchangable.

Try ICP for belts and bits, they have the lot :thumb

Also, what I mean is that period correct might be difficult.
And yes, I'm OCD enough to pay extra for older, sometimes inferior parts because if I look at that engine bay, I'd like to see I tried my best to keep it original. That's just personal preference though.
