As he’s not looking for big build then I’d buy a new block for ease , better block and internals and good enough to see 450hp if needs Be.
You could send your heads to alyn and he build it up for you .

I had my rb320 forged out for the power, I don't cut corners I just thinking as its not going 'all in' as in big build I just wondered.. even the 2.1 stroker was a thought but I just want original as its gonna hold better money if I do sell one day :thumb

I think he just wants some new crank bearings, an oil pump & pickup and some gaskets changing by the sounds of it? Thats certainly all i would do when doing a refresh, is generally the bearings that let go right? Pair of head gaskets if you felt really fruity...

Not sure how you would replace bearings and refresh the short engine and then not replace h/gaskets??

We carry most options (both uprated & std) on the shelf and happy to give advice as required. 0191-4103770

Another vote here for a factory ej207 short block. Stronger upgraded internals, built using factory processes, block air tested, torque to turn, bearing, end float, tolerances measured, minty fresh gasket faces and threads.
Alternatively refresh ..... new bearings, rings and machine work, take a chance on the original crank and crappy stud and nut con rods.
If you do decide to refresh its worth fitting a set of new age sti con rods as a cheap up grade.

Get yourself a shopping cart on import car part or advances fill it up with what you need to get an idea of parts cost compared to a short block.

I know we all blow smoke up @asperformance arse but alyn gave me the best price by far on a jdm spec short block.

I have known Alyn for a lot of years and he has always given good prices and service would not go to anybody else for engine parts or service parts will beat anybody hands down wish all other trades treated their customers like he does:thumb
