    Sadly, I have to put up for sale my 1998 GC8 V4 STI Type RA V limited, the reason is because I have another baby on the way. This car is no.21 of 555 in the best colour, Sonic blue. For full spec of these cars please have a look at the Type RA forum.

    The RA was imported in 2008.

    Exterior is very clean and straight, a very small piece of lacquer peel on the rear bumper but there isn’t a single scratch or dent on the body.

    The car has been undersealed and the rear arches are in good condition for its age.

    Engine bay is tidy. Unfortunately, a previous owner has changed the colour of the manifold to green but that’s something I had planned on changing. The car benefits from a RARE ARC induction kit and it had a new radiator fitted when I bought the car Oct 2017. It has recently had genuine Subaru crystal headlights (originals will come with the car) and I was able to source an IC spray bottle as it was missing when I purchased the car. I have fog light covers that need painting that will be included in the sale.

    Interior very good, mostly standard except for the blue Sparco steering wheel and aftermarket stereo system. Seats are in good condition with only a slight wear to the base of the driver’s seat. The car also comes with Prosport gauges and turbo timer. It is an AC and electric window spec car.

    Mechanically, the car has recently had a lot of money spent on it starting with a NEW turbo in 2013. Unfortunately, I had suspected head gasket failure and this was confirmed by a Subaru specialist. So in early June 2018 the car has had the following: NEW genuine Subaru head gasket with skim, NEW 11mm RCM head studs, NEW RCM Cambelt kit, NEW inlet and turbo inlet gaskets, NEW RCM 10mm oil pump, NEW thermostat and waterpump, NEW camshaft shaft oil seal, Millers 10/60 oil and replacement filter. All the work carried out by CAMS performance in Blackburn who have a superb reputation with these cars. Gearshift is lovely, nice and tight with no slop and the correct close/low ratio box. Rear pads fitted May 2018. I have the front pads but not had time to change them yet.

    Wheels and Tyres: 17" Multi Spoke "OZ RACING" Lightweight Magnesium SUPER LEGGERA Wheels Finished In Gold With Space Saver Spare Wheel. NEW black wheel nuts have been fitted recently along with STI centre caps. The car comes with excellent condition tyres. 3 Avon ZV7s and one Michelin PS 4.

    Drives very well and pulls strongly through the rev range. It’s quite a raw experience driving this car and it’s a sensation you only get with a car of this era. Starts hot or cold with no issues or knocks.

    In my ownership it has never been on track and never intended to, it has been purely kept, in a garage, as a second weekend car. If I were to keep the car, then arches would be looked at in the next 18 months and the driver’s side sill has slight corrosion on the jacking point (see pictures) but all my funds have gone on the engine as you can see.

    Only serious buyers need contact. NO test pilots, NO PX offers and NO low ball offers, thank you. Test drives will be given if potential buyer brings proof of insurance. It took me 12 months to find this car so I know what it is like to find a good one.
